This year’s Oscars are going to be an atypical one in circumstance of the pandemic that made movie production companies postponed their releases from 2020 to 2021. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced shortlists in nine categories for the 93rd Academy Awards: Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film and Visual Effects.

The “Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences” official announcement of the 2021 Oscar nominees is set on 15 March 2021. The 93rd Academy Awards will be presented on 25 April, rather than its typical window in February, due to the pandemic.
