Ireland has returned to a nationwide lockdown for the next six weeks as the COVID-19 cases rise, and I’ve been informed that other Europeans countries are intensifying measures to protect their population against the spread of the virus and also planning a new shutdown. A lot of people are terrified of the lockdown’s consequences for their well-being. It’s a tough moment, but we can try some ways to make it easier, for instance, I will be spending my time doing things that I love like writing, reading, cooking, and of course watching series and movies.

Movies, series and TV shows are the best distraction to go thorough this uncertain time and keep our bodies and minds protected. So, I’ve decided to give my tips about “The 10 best series on Netflix to watch during lockdown”. Check it out:

8 – The Crown

The first season brings a plot focused on Queen Elizabeth II as a twenty-five-year-old newlywed faced with the daunting prospect of leading the world’s most famous monarchy while forging a relationship with legendary Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill.

She needs to deal with the decline of The British Empire whilst the political world is in disarray, familiar scandals, personal intrigues, romances and sexism for being a young woman who takes the throne to build a new era.

7 – The politician

The first season shows Payton Hobart, who has dreamed of being elected President of the United States since childhood, is running for student body president at Saint Sebastian High School in Santa Barbara, California, against the popular and athletic River Barkley. Payton, under the direction of his ambitious friends McAfee Westbrook, James Sullivan, and Alice Charles, chooses Infinity Jackson, a cancer patient to be his vice-president.

Meanwhile, River, under the direction of his girlfriend Astrid Sloan, chooses Skye Leighton, a gender-nonconforming black classmate, to be his vice-president. So, both candidates start running the campaign to get the election, and as a consequence, they want power, success and fame.

6 – Sex Education

The first series follows the story of Otis Milburn, an insecure teenager who is ambivalent about sex because of his mother Jean, a sex therapist who is quite frank about all aspects of sexuality.

After inadvertently assisting the school bully with his sexual performance anxiety, Otis sets up an underground sex therapy clinic business with Maeve—a confident but troubled classmate—to help their fellow students with their sexual problems. Otis realises that he also needs some therapy of his own.

1 – Pose

Pose season 1 is set in 1987–88 and looks at “the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York”: the LGBT African-American and Latino ball culture world, the downtown social and literary scene, and the rise of the yuppie Trump milieu. Blanca Rodríguez, a trans woman, decides to open her own house, the House of Evangelista, to shelter young homosexuals and transsexuals who have nowhere to live, in addition to competitions organised in LGBT ballrooms.
