CBS has released the new teaser for “The Equalizer”, an American crime drama series based on the series aired in the 80s with the same name, and now it is coming back starring Queen Latifah.
In the new version, Latifah plays Robyn McCall role, a single mother with a mysterious background who uses her skills to protect and defend those who cannot do so for themselves. While acting as a guardian angel to others, Robyn is also seeking her own redemption. Adam Goldberg, Lorraine Toussaint and Liza Lapira also star in the production.
“The Equalizer” was originally 1985 TV show starring Edward Woodward as a former covert ops agent turned vigilante hero in defense of the innocent. A film starring Denzel Washington in the title role, very loosely based upon the series, was released in September 2014. It was followed by a sequel, “The Equalizer 2”, which was released on July 20, 2018.
Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller are the talents behind the show working as showrunners, writers and producers of the reboot. Latifah also works as an executive producer.
It set to premiere on 7 February 2021, in the US.
