About the sitcom
The TV show, created by the father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy, portrays the story of the wealthy Rose family, who overnight loses all their fortune after the magnate Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy) had his assets confiscated by the state due to fraud in his ‘Rose Videos’ company. Mister Rose, the family patriarch, bought Schitt’s Creek in the past as a joke and gave it to his son David (Dan Levy) as a birthday present. Currently, the city was the only asset they had left.
Johnny Rose and Moira Rose —along with their adult children, David and Alexis ((Annie Murphy) are forced to relocate to Schitt’s Creek, a small rural city, and moving into two adjacent rooms in a run-down motel. They have to adjust to their new reality without luxuries, servants, perks and very little money. Their well-to-do attitudes come into conflict with the more provincial residents of Schitt’s Creek, including mayor Roland Schitt (Chris Elliott), his wife Jocelyn (Jenn Robertson), the motel’s manager Stevie Budd (Emily Hampshire), town council elects Ronnie (Karen Robinson) and Bob (John Hemphill), and Jazzagal member and Café Tropical waitress Twyla Sands (Sarah Levy)
